According to the EPA, Radon is a lung cancer-causing, radioactive gas which comes from a breakdown of uranium in soil, rock and water and gets into the air you breathe. You can’t smell it or taste it but it may be a problem in your home. When a home radon test reveals a level of 4.0 pCi/L or higher, a radon mitigation system is recommended.
How do I know if I have Radon?
Radon gas is odorless and tasteless, doing a radon test is the only way to know for certain if radon is present in the home. A radon test is typically 48-72 hours. An electronic monitor is set up in the home to collect data and hourly readings. The final report will provide the average radon level in the home, show the readings at each hour interval and plot a graph to provide the home owner with an accurate report of radon activity in the home.
